Starting from scratch, Trenton Robles, Owner of Crowned Clipz, wanted a style that resembled the New York 90's style. This included themes of vintage Jordan shoes, open bricks walls, graffiti, and more. As his name states, a crown is a primary visual and his initial desire was to have a lion mascot logo with shears with it. Our conversation led to starting with two completely different directions, one being very serious and intense, and the other being a vintage cartoon mascot.

Two Different Lion Mascots, Did they Stick?

Two Different Lion Mascots, Did they Stick?

We delivered two brand directions as mentioned before.

Our first was inspired by vintage NBA mascot logos. The goal was to give it that laid back, sports centric vibe. Think large letterman jackets, Jordan ones, Space Jam.

The other was inspired by inspiration pieces Trenton had showed he had interest in. This was a more intricate illustration with the brand direction to take a more serious approach.

After conversing, the direction switched one more time leaving the idea of the mascot in general. This lead to our final version.
